Your Genealogy Report Tutorial & User Guide
06/02/2016
The SFI Genealogy is chock full of features and capabilities designed to help you build your business. In fact, it's one of your most powerful resources in SFI! You can use your Genealogy to manage your growing organization, send individual and group messages to your entire organization (or any segment), monitor sales activity, award gift certificates, reassign affiliates, and much more.
To help you get the most out of this vital resource for your SFI business, we've created the following tips and shortcuts. Read through this article and refer back to it regularly to familiarize yourself with all the Genealogy has to offer.
Genealogy Control Panel
When you arrive at your Genealogy Report, you'll see that the top section of the page (see below) contains several tools, links to support articles, and more.
On the left side of the top section, you'll see a table containing your Genealogy stats: Generations in your team (up to 12), the number of affiliates in each Generation, the CV generated by your Affiliates in each of those Generations for the current month, and the number of your CSAs and the CV that they've generated for the current month).
Below the table are links to this article, an article on tips for getting the most from the Affiliate Manager tool (which is accessible by clicking the name of any affiliate in your Genealogy list), a link to your Uplineteam members and their contact information, and your Visual Genealogy–simplified version of your Genealogy report that includes account photos of your team members. You'll also see an option for group e-mailing, which we'll go over later in this article.
The right half of this box contains the sort and filter fields you can use to drill down in your organization to produce lists of affiliates who meet a variety of chosen criteria. We'll also discuss these search fields in detail a little later in this article.

Scroll down a bit from this top section, and you'll see the meat of your Genealogy Report–the PSAs and CSAs in your organization. At the very top of this section (illustrated below), you'll see 11 tabs for viewing your organization's data in formats that best fit your objectives. For example: To review sales activity for your group, just click the "Sales" tab to view both current and the previous month's Sales VersaPoints (SVP) amounts for each affiliate.

Here's a rundown of all 11 tabs and the information you can glean about your group from each:
1. Basic - lists each affiliate's SFI ID, name, title/rank, VP totals to date and for current month, sponsor ID, generation, join date, last login date, CSA assign date, and keycode (if any).
2. VersaPoints - view for each affiliate the VP they accumulated yesterday, to date, for the current month, and during the previous month, as well as each affiliate's Power Rank, Country Rank, and Class Rank.
3. S-Builder - displays your team member's most recent S-Builder participation.
4. Communication - includes each affiliate's preferred language and e-mail addresses and phone numbers (if available) for your PSAs.
5. Aff Mgr - includes selected data culled for each affiliate, including his or her profile score and whether an affiliate has completed the affiliate profile (AP column), has an active auto-delivery order (AD column), has confirmed their registration (CR column) and whitelisted mail@sfimg.com with their e-mail provider(WL column), and has set goals for the month< (GS column).
6. Sales - features total number of personal referrals for each Affiliate, Sales VersaPoints (SVP) so far this month, the previous month's SVP, and BCQ status.
7. Gift - use this format to award gift certificate or TCredit pack to your affiliates; in the Gift column, click the "Buy Now" link for the your chosen affiliate, and select the dollar amount for the gift certificate or the value of the TCredit Pack. Why would you want to give gifts to your Affiliates? Find out here.
8. Geographic - includes at-a-glance city, state/province, and country info for your team.
9. Reassign - see this tab when you want to reassign sponsors for various affiliates; click the checkbox(es) next to all the SFI ID numbers of qualified Affiliates you wish to reassign to a new sponsor; then, above the list of your Affiliates, enter the SFI ID of the new sponsor into the field, and click "Reassign selected affiliates" button. Click HERE for tips on how best to reassign affiliates.
10. TCredits - click this tab to transfer TCredits; click the Transfer TCredits link next to the Affiliate of your choice, enter the number of TCredits you want to transfer to this Affiliate, and click OK. Read this support article to learn how to use TCredit transferring to promote your team activity.
11. Opti-Build - here you can see the number of hits each person has received via Opti-build, and add or remove affiliates from your Opti-Build manager.
In addition to the information presented above, each tab also includes columns on the far right side containing these icons:

– Click the envelope icon to send an individual Affiliate a TeamMail message from you. Your message will appear in the Affiliate's Message Center at the SFI Affiliate Center. Your Affiliate will see an alert about your message when he or she logs in at the SFI Affiliate Center. After reading your messag, the recipient can reply to you with a single click.
– Click the bell icon to set up important follow-up reminders for individual Affiliates. This handy tool lets you choose a date and time for the follow-up reminder and a field that lets you enter your personal notes about this follow up. When the date and time of your reminder is reached, you'll see an alert on your Alerts page.
– The small chat bubble icon appears for each of your PSAs and CSAs. If your PSA or CSA is online and logged into the SFI Affiliate Center, you'll see a solid green chat bubble. Click it to bring up a chat window for that Affiliate. A gray, hollow chat bubble means the Affiliate is offline. A green chat bubble with an exclamation point indicates the Affiliate is online, a chat has been initiated, and the Affiliate is waiting for you to respond. A gray, hollow chat bubble with an exclamation point means the Affiliate is offline and a chat has been initiated and is awaiting for you to respond.
– Clicking the pencil icon pops up a note field for an individual affiliate. Notes are for your own private use and are viewable to you only. Just enter your note and click Save Note. Saved notes are indicated with a green pencil icon.
– To send an affiliate a free E-Card, click the black paper airplane icon. Then, select an E-Card category (Welcome, Congrats, Thank You, Birthday, etc.) and click the Initiate button to launch the E-Cards tool, where you can choose your card design and compose a short message. NOTE: E-Cards are limited to 200 a day and you may not send any one affiliate more than one card a day.
You may also notice various icons directly before an Affiliate's name on your Genealogy report. These icons indicate various data for a given affiliate, as indicated below:

Lastly, you'll see that your CSAs appear in rows highlighted in green and any reassigned Affiliates you've received will appear in rows highlighted in blue.
Using Sorts
Sorts allow for easy viewing and management of your Genealogy records. The group of available sorts (as illustrated below) vary depending on the tab you've selected (i.e., Basic, Sales, Gift, etc.) and the columns of data that appear within each tab (i.e., SFI ID, Key Code, Date Joined, etc.). Just select the sort you want from the dropdown menu, choose ascending (ASC) or descending (DSC) order, and click the Sort button to view your data for a given column in the order you want. NOTE: to view the kind of data displayed in a column, just hover your mouse over the column's linked title.

Using Filters
Filters are a powerful tool you can use to drill down and view subsets of data within your Genealogy. You can also designate Sorts to use with your Filters to further refine your search results.
By default, your Genealogy report has two sets of Filter groups (primary and secondary) from which you can choose. Both filter lists may vary depending on the Tab format you select.

Your Primary Filter List includes:
- SFI ID
- Last Name
- Sponsor ID
- VersaPoints (Total)
- CSA Assign Date
- VersaPoints (This month)
- Date Joined
- VersaPoints (Yesterday)
- VersaPoints (This Month)
- VersaPoints (Last Month)
- Power Rank
- Country Rank
- Class Rank
- City
- Profile Score
- Last Login
- Sales VersaPoints (This month)
- Sales VersaPoints (Last month)
- TripleClicks Referrals
- Language
- E-Mail Address
Your Secondary Filter List includes:
- Rank
- Red Flagged
- Goals Set For Current Month
- Generation
- Rank Achieved For The First Time
- Keycode
- Online
- Anniversary Of SFI Sign-Up
- Birthday
- Leadership Challenge Qualifier
- State
- Country
- Confirmed Registration
- Added mail@sfimg.com To Safe List
- Completed Affiliate Profile
- Standing Order
Here's an example on how to use your filters:
Let's say you want to send a special newsletter to all your affiliates who:
- Joined within the last 30 days.
- Have not yet accumulated 1500 VP.
- Have logged in to the SFI Affiliate Center at least once in the last month.
- AND you'd like the list sorted alphabetically (A-Z).
First, select Date Joined from the dropdown menu, the ">" (the greater than sign), and enter the date 30 days in the past to limit your results to only those affiliates who joined on dates greater (sooner) than 30 days ago. (See image below.)
Click the plus sign to the right of that filter to duplicate the filter list. Then, on the duplicated filter, select VersaPoints (Total), the "<" (the less than sign) and 1500 to limit the results further to affiliates with less than 1500 VP.
Once again, click the plus sign to the right of the duplicated filter, and select Last Login from the new filter's dropdown menu, the ">" (the greater than sign), and enter the same date as in your first filter to refine the results to those who have logged in at least once in the past 30 days.
Finally, in the Sort by field, select Last Name and ASC. Click the green FILTER button when you're ready.

You will now see a list of affiliates within your Genealogy that match your search parameters!
Next, just click the link above your results to create your newsletter e-mail:

QuickFilters
If there is a combination of filters you find using frequently, you can create your own QuickFilter. So, instead of having to select your favorite filters from dropdown menus, duplicate filter lists, etc. everytime you want to see specific information on your Genealogy report, you can simply save your custom filter and sort as a QuickFilter for quick easy access.
Just choose the filters and sort you want to save as its own search, and click the SAVE CURRENT AS QUICKFILTER button.

Then, next time you want to find the same information on your Genealogy, just click the LOAD MY QUICKFILTER button.Your Genealogy report will automatically load your saved Filters and Sort and create the corresponding search results.
Additionally, your Genealogy already has several QuickFilters available for you to use. These QuickFilters represent the most popular searches many Affiliates find themselves using regularly. Use them whenever you want fast access to information about your Affiliates, and identify those who may need assistance, encouragement, recognition, etc. For example, you may want to select the New Team Leaders this month QuickFilter to provide encouragement and rewards to up-and-comers in your organization. Or, you may want to reach out to those in your organization in danger of being removed from the SFI program due to inactivity; simply choose the Inactive 320-365 Days (Removal soon)QuickFilter to easily identify these Affiliates.
To view all your built-in QuickFilters, just click the dropdown menu under the QuickFilters heading, and click the one you want from the list. Your Genealogy will automatically load with the corresponding results.

Genealogy Tips & Shortcuts
1. Reassigned Affiliates appear in blue rows, Co-Sponsored Affiliates (CSAs) appear in green rows.
2. Click a total in the VP(T) or VP(M) column to access that Affiliate's PSA Ledger, which lists specific VersaPoints earnings, rank qualifications, and more for that Affiliate.
3. You can send a group message to all or any segment of the affiliates in your Genealogy. Use your Filters to pull up a group you wish to mail. Then, click the Send an e-mail/TeamMail to this group link located to the left side of the info box at the top of your Genealogy report.

NOTE: Although your Genealogy places NO limits on mailings to your PSAs, there are weekly (defined as calendar weeks from Sunday to Saturday) limits on the number of e-mails you can send to your CSAs and all affiliates in your 2nd - 12th Generations. View limits here.
4. Click a linked Affiliate name to view his or her Affiliate Snapshot. This handy popup window contains all sorts of valuable SFI-related information on that Affiliate, including photograph, name, location, VIP title and rank badges, Booster Club status, S-Builder Co-op status, and any personally submitted business tips. For your PSAs, you will also be able to set up a Welcome letter, go through a handy checklist to track your PSA's progress, jot down specific notes about this affiliate for your own use, and more. Learn how to get the most from your Affiliate Snapshot HERE.
5. To pull up everyone sponsored by a particular affiliate, use his or her SFI ID as a filter.
6. Increase the chances your PSAs to become engaged with TripleClicks, Eager Zebra Games, Astro Auctions and more by issuing special TCredit gift packs. Just click the "Gift" tab and select the Buy Now link under the "Gift" column for the Affiliate you want to gift TCredits to. Select the gift pack you want in the new window and click the green ISSUE TCREDIT PACK button. Your Affiliate will immediately receive the TCredits and can use them right away!
Here are the steps to transfer TCredits to your team via the Genealogy:
A. Choose the TCredit tab.
B. Click the "Transfer TCredits" link for your chosen affiliate.
C. Enter the number of credits you wish to transfer in the field, and click Submit.
D. SFI will send the recipient an e-mail notification and a confirmation e-mail to you.
8. Consider this weekly or monthly exercise: Send out a message to those affiliates who have not yet begun to accumulate VersaPoints or who have not yet attained 100 VersaPoints. Don't "strong-arm" them! Identify yourself as a sponsor or upline team member and just tell them that you wanted to make sure they were aware of the benefits of accumulating rank-advancing VP, and see if you can answer any questions they might have. Refer them to their SFI homepage (www.sfimg.com/Home) where they can view their To-Do tab and begin accumulating points.
Here are the steps for creating your mailing list on your Genealogy:
A. Select the Affiliate Manager (Aff Mgr) tab.
B. Select VersaPoints (Total) as your filter. Select the "less than" sign (<), and enter 100.C. Click the green "Filter" button to submit your filter.D. Click the Send an e-mail/TeamMail link and follow the directions to send a message to this group.
9. Regularly check for affiliates who have not yet whitelisted SFI's e-mail address and send them a group message encouraging them to do so. Remember: although the group message may not go through to their e-mail inboxes, due to them not yet whitelisting SFI, a copy WILL appear in the affiliates' Message Center at the SFI Affiliate Center.
A. Select the Affiliate Manager tab.
B. Select "Added mail@sfimg.com to Safe List" from the secondary filter list, choose "No," and click the Filter button.C. Click the "Send an e-mail to this group"* link and follow the directions there to send a message to this group encouraging them to add mail@sfimg.com to their e-mail's safe list. Be sure to reference this article in your message where your affiliates can get help doing this.
10. Send out a weekly newsletter to your group. Click HERE for SFI President Gery Carson's column on how to create effective newsletters that will help you generate regular upgrades in your team.
11. Consider hosting a local SFI event to meet, brainstorm, plan co-op promotions, etc. Use the Geographic tab and using city, state, and/or country filters to find individuals in your region. Then use the Send an e-mail/TeamMail link to send each an invitation to get together.
12. You can easily identify potential leaders in your organization via your Visual Genealogy report. This special genealogy performs many of the same functions as the regular Genealogy, but is simpler, is visual (uses the account photos of your team members), and is designed specifically to help you visualize, manage, and build a 5-wide organization, just as The Diamond Plan recommends (and also what Opti-Build and Builder Bundles were created to support).
